Pearl ist der Name meines Hundes. Ich werde mit Ihr eine zehntägige Wanderung machen, um eine Familie in Tansania zu unterstützen. Wir gehen zu Fuß mit einem 15 Kilo schweren Rucksack vom 82178 Puchheim (München West) zur Zugspitze über Ammersee, etwa 150 Kilometer.

Mein bester Freund in Tansania kenne ich seit 2003. Er hat eine Basisschulung gehabt und träumt von einer besseren Ausbildung für seine Kinder.

Er fing sein Arbeitsleben als Kilimandscharo Gepäckträger an. Er trug Proviant für die Touristen bis zum Gipfel des Kilimandscharo. Später hat er auch für die Touristen am Berg gekocht und dann wurde er Koch bei einer Safari-Gesellschaft. Auf die Touren in den National Parks Tansanias hat er für die Safari-Touristen gekocht. Mit seinem Verdienst hat er bei einer Privatschule den Beruf eines Safari-Führers und Tourismus-Management gelernt. Er hat einen alten Landrover gekauft und wurde freiberuflicher Safari-Führer, der auch für seine Klienten gekocht hat. Währenddessen hat er verheiratet. Aber jetzt ist er ein alleinerziehender Vater mit vier Kindern.

Dann kam Corona! In der Pandemiezeit gibt es in Tansania praktisch kein Tourismus mehr und er ernährt seine Familie mit mini Jobs und von selbst angebauten Gemüse usw. Also, mit viel Mühe, überlebt die Familie gerade noch. Aber sein Traum für seine Kinder, dass sie eine gute Schulung bekommt, ist in Gefahr.

Wenn ich mit der Wanderung €4000 spendiert bekomme, wird das für das nächste Schuljahr reichen. Eine gute Schulung in Tansania ist sehr teuer und bringt mit den Kosten der Uniformen und Bücher. Hoffentlich in 2023 wird die Pandemie besiegt und er kann wieder mit Safari-Touren beginnen.

Pearl is my dogs name. I will go on a ten-day sponsored trek with her to support a family in Tanzania. We walk with a 15 kilo backpack from 82178 Puchheim (Munich West) to the Zugspitze via Ammersee, about 150 kilometers.

I have known my best friend in Tanzania since 2003. He has had a basic education and dreams of a better education for his children.

He started his working life as a Kilimanjaro porter. He carried provisions for the tourists to the top of Kilimanjaro. Later he also cooked for the tourists on the mountain and then he became a chef for a safari company. He cooked for the safari tourists on tours in the national parks of Tanzania. With his earnings he learned the profession of safari guide and tourism management at a private school. He bought an old Landrover and became a freelance safari guide who also cooked for his clients. Meanwhile he got married. But now he is a single father with four children.

Then Corona came! In the pandemic period there is practically no tourism in Tanzania and he feeds his family with mini jobs and from home-grown vegetables etc. So, with a lot of effort, the family just survives. But his dream for his children that they get a good education is in jeopardy.

If I get €4000 donated with the hike, that will be enough for the next school year. A good education in Tanzania is very expensive and entails school fees, the cost of uniforms and books. Hopefully in 2023 the pandemic will be defeated and he can start safari tours again.
